I recently had the pleasure of providing live music at a beautiful Thanksgiving event (my first!)
at The Oak Bistro in Cambridge, a lovely venue with a warm, inviting atmosphere and delicious, comforting food. The setting was perfect for a relaxed evening of conversation and connection. The hostess for the evening had thoughtfully planned the musical sets for the night. She asked me to create an atmosphere that would let conversation flow naturally while quietly anchoring the room, saying, "My aim is to keep conversation comfortable while letting your music quietly anchor the room." The first set of live music was inspired by Roots and Reflection, providing a gentle, grounding backdrop for guests to settle in. The second set focused on Connection and Quiet Joy, creating a sense of warmth and togetherness that perfectly matched the spirit of Thanksgiving.

It was truly special to watch the guests come together. Many arrived as strangers but left as friends, all starting the evening by sharing beautiful moments of gratitude for the things they value in their lives. Having live music at the event helped set the tone and created an environment where meaningful conversations could flourish while the acoustic music supported the evening subtly but memorably.
Playing background music for events like this reminds me why I love being a wedding and event musician. There is something magical about live music that quietly enhances the atmosphere and allows people to connect. The Oak Bistro, the wonderful food, the hostess’s thoughtful planning, and the open-hearted guests made this Thanksgiving evening one to remember.
Providing live music for events in Cambridge like this one is always a joy and it was an absolute pleasure to help create such a warm and memorable experience.
